David Moyes had to take of the managerial duties of Manchester United from legend Alex Ferguson. There’s no two ways around it. Those are some huge shoes to fill.
So, it’s safe to say that playing well enough to continue Man U.’s tradition of dominating the Barclays Premier League would be a priority for the new manager.
Unfortunately, the Red Devils have laid an egg thus far. And for a club with a long and proud history, the supporters will begin to revolt. That tends to happen when they drop a decision to rival Liverpool in a league match, get pounded by Manchester City and back that up with a lost to West Bromwich Albion.
Add to the troubles is the ongoing soap opera between Manchester United and their star, Wayne Rooney, who may or may not finish the season with the club, depending of who you ask. Needless to say, Rooney’s not happen, Man. U’s not happy. And the fans, well, you get the idea.
Yet beyond the Premiership, everything appears to be as normal as can be. The Red Devils avenged their loss to Liverpool with a 1-0 win in the first leg of the Capital One Cup, and they cruised to an early victory in their first Champions League tilt.
So, look on the bright side, fans. As long as you’re not watching your team play an actual BPL game, everything is perfectly normal at Old Trafford.
Of course, I suspect you’re not, so, well, good luck with the pitchforks and torches and everything.
